Licensing

Usage rights for the Framework methodology, Store templates and systems, and Journal and Library content — what you may do with what you find here, and what remains ours.

A note on how to use this page: the Licensing terms below is a considered starting draft, written in the institution's own voice and structured the way we structure everything else here — carefully. It is not, however, a substitute for counsel. Before this document governs any real relationship with a real visitor, customer, or student, it should be reviewed and adapted by a licensed attorney in your governing jurisdiction. Bracketed placeholders mark the specifics only you and your counsel can supply.

1. Overview

Everything Editorial Intelligence™ makes available — the Framework methodology, Store templates and editorial systems, Studio resources, Academy course materials, and Journal and Library content — is licensed to you under the terms below, not sold outright. This page describes what each license permits, what it does not, and how attribution works when you reference our published thinking.

2. Store Templates and Editorial Systems (Personal Use License)

Story bibles, character systems, novel planners, worldbuilding systems, scene cards, editorial worksheets, revision planners, and similar products purchased through the Store or Studio are licensed to you for your own personal or single-business creative and professional use. Specifically, you may:

Use the template to develop your own manuscripts, editorial projects, or client work, including paid client engagements where you are the one applying the template; print or duplicate the template for your own working use; and adapt or customize your personal copy as needed for your own workflow.

You may not: resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the template itself, in original or modified form, whether for free or for payment; upload the template (or a substantially similar derivative) to a marketplace, template shop, course, or public repository; share your single-user copy with multiple individuals or an organization beyond the license you purchased; or represent a modified version of the template as your own original product for distribution. Multi-seat or team licensing for organizations is available on request — contact legal@editorial-framework.com.

3. The Framework™ Methodology

The Framework's pillars and terminology (Structural Clarity, Psychological Truth, Sentence-Level Craft, Reader Attention, and related concepts) are published as educational methodology. You are welcome to apply Framework principles in your own writing, editing, and teaching practice. You may not represent the Framework, or a substantially rebranded version of it, as your own proprietary methodology, or use the Editorial Intelligence™ name or Framework™ mark to imply endorsement, certification, or affiliation without our written permission.

4. Journal and Library Content

Essays, articles, and research published in the Journal, the Library, and the Research Center are made available for your personal reading and professional development. You may quote short excerpts (generally, a few sentences) in your own writing, teaching, or commentary, provided you include clear attribution — for example: “[Excerpt] — Editorial Intelligence™, [Article Title], editorial-framework.com.” You may not republish a Journal essay, Library article, or Research Center white paper in full, or in substantial part, on another site or publication without prior written permission. Academic citation in the course of scholarly research is welcomed and does not require separate permission beyond standard citation practice.

5. Academy Course Materials

Course videos, workbooks, and curricula provided through Academy enrollment are licensed to the enrolled individual for their own learning and, where applicable, their own subsequent client or editorial work. Course materials may not be recorded, reproduced, or redistributed to non-enrolled individuals, and Academy credentials or certification marks may not be used by anyone who has not completed the corresponding program requirements.

6. Editorial Software Output

Structural notes, diagrams, and analysis generated by Editorial Software from your own submitted material belong to you to use as you see fit in your own work. The underlying software, its algorithms, and its interface remain the exclusive property of Lips and Voices Publishing LLC and are licensed for use, not ownership, under the terms of our Terms of Use.

7. Trademarks

Editorial Intelligence™, the Framework™, the Library™, the Journal™, the Research Center™, the Studio™, the Academy™, Editorial Software™, the Store™, and Community™ are trademarks of Lips and Voices Publishing LLC. No license to use these marks is granted except as expressly stated on this page or by separate written agreement.

8. Enforcement and Questions

We actively monitor for unauthorized redistribution of licensed materials. If you are uncertain whether a particular use falls within these terms, or wish to request a license broader than what is described here (for classroom use, translation, organizational licensing, or similar), contact us at legal@editorial-framework.com before proceeding.
